What can I expect from The Residency at Second?

The Residency at Second is a 14-month commitment for those who feel God's calling to church ministry leadership and will combine practical training, spiritual mentorship, and hands-on ministry experience led by Second Baptist's Executive Team.

Residents will focus on their specific ministry area while gaining exposure to other areas and serve as ambassadors for the church's community and mission impact.

What is provided for Residents?

Housing will be provided for residents selected. Residents will primarily raise their own support, with a stipend from Second Baptist.

Required training on support-raising will be provided to residents before the residency begins.

Who should apply for The Residency?

Those who feel called to lead and serve in the local church

Those who have completed a 2-year associate degree or 4-year bachelor degree

Those who are willing to commit to a 14-month, full-time residency

Investing in tomorrow's leaders for generations of Kingdom impact.

The Residency at Second offers ministerial training in a deeply relational context. Residents will not only receive extensive training in the track they identify as most aligned with their ministry calling, but also in each of the ministry areas at Second. We offer this broad approach to development to prepare residents for a whatever ministry opportunities might lie ahead for them, no matter the nuance.

That training is executed as residents build relationships with one another, which is one of the reasons that Second provides housing as part of its residency. Additionally, residents serve alongside our ministerial team to develop camaraderie and trust as the residency progresses.

The application window is closed for the current Residency cycle.
